In Congress, Mr M'Kellar introduced a Bill aiming at preventing the manipulation of foodstuffs as, he alleged, tho Cold Storage Trust had be.en doing. Fines and imprisonment are provided for those who corner foodstuffs.
The Bill prohibits the storage of food for longer than a certain time, with tlis object of compelling a trust to unload ; ts hoarded supplies and thus reduce the cost.
