GOOD TEMPLARY.

Tho" Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge held its weekly meeting in the social hall of the old Fire Brigade Station on Tuesday evening. Bro. H. H. Johnson, chief templar, presided over a splendid attendance of members and several visitors. One now membef was proposed for membership, and afterwards duly initiated in the lodge. Several past members were present, and received a templar welcome on their return. The re-', port of tho Anniversary Committee was pre-: sented, and showed that fte sum of £5 sswould be forwarded to tho Grand LodgeExecutive for aggressive work. An invitation to a social, under the auspices of tho Hone of Dunedin, was accepted. A report wag given on the recent church parade held in the Trinity Methodist Church, and tko secretary was instructed to write to the Rev. P. W. Fairclough, thanking him for placing his church at the disposal of the lodges, and also highly congratulating him on the splendid practical temperance sermon. preached. The item for the evening was a' sight-reading competition, with separate; prizes for 6i'sters and brothers. Good.en^ tries were received, and on a ballot of tho members being taken, Sister Jessie Clarkson (vice-templar) and Bro. H. H. Johnson 'chief templar) were declared the winners. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the. visitors and competitors, responses being re-'. ceived from Sister South (Lily of the Valley) and Bro. M'Keowi (Hope of Dunedin)^
