The secretary of the Electric Dredging Company has received a message from the master of No. 1 dredge, stating that the dredge has been working through an old paddock, and thero will consequently be no wash-up this week; The secretary of the Koputai Syndicate reports a return of 1640z for a month's work. Tho value of the 1230z of melted gold obtained from a crushing of 901b of picked stone at tho Occidental Consolidated mine, Thames, is 50s per oz. C'onsccjuently the total return amounts to £309 7s 6d. Tho thirty-sixth dividend has been declared by the Talisman Company. This will absorb £30,187 lOj, and will bring the total dividends and bonuses declared since reconstuction to £849,096 I7s 6d. The value of. minerals'other than gold produced from West Australian mines during August was £14.291, and the total for eight months was £181,561. Details for August were:— Copocr, £703; tin, £5793; silver-lead ore, £3868; coal, £3927. WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION COMPANY. (Pee Umtkd Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 13. (Received Nov. 13, at 9.50 p.m.) The report presented at the half-yearly meeting of the Mount Lycll Mining Company showed a balance at the credit of the profit and lois account, after providing for all charges, of £5t>0,090. The liquid assets showed an excess over liabilities of £486,486. The ore reserves at the North Lyell mines were estimated at 4,188,000 tons. Tho Mount Lyell Comstock property is being tested with a view to the possible extraction of a substantial tonnage by means of an open cut. This may have an important bearing on Ihe future of the property.
