MEETINGS.
The social room of the Octagon Hall was well -fillod on the occasion of tho continuation of tho 41st anniversary celebrations of the Pioneer of Dunetlm Lodge of Good Templars. Tho funtion took the form of a musical evening. The following is a. list of tho- performers, each of whom received an encore.—Pianoforte solos, Miss If. M'Gregofc and Mr M'Kay; songs—Miss J. Clarkoon and Mrs W. J. P. Harvey, Messrs Hinton, Jones, and H. E. Bennett; recitations, Mr' IJ. Russell-; musical monologues, Miss I. Maiengarb. Miss H. M'Gregor ofßciaied at the piano. The chairman, Bro. H. H. Johnston (Chief Templar), gave a hearty welcome to those who were not connected. with the order, and urged upon them tho necessity of identifying themselves with such an institution. Bro. Cameron gave a brief speech in connection,with hia recent visit to the North Island in tho capacity of dominion organiser. Reference was made to the loss of the late Bro. D. Gain since tho last anniversary. A telegram was read from Bro. Gregg, now resident in Opunake. congratulating the lodge upon the atainmenk of its 41st anniversary. A framed picture of tho lato Bro. J. W. Jago, the first Chief Templar of the lodge, was placed on tho chairman's table.
