Sir G. Farrar, chairman of the East Band Proprietary Mines, was awarded £400 damages and costs in his libel action again-st Mr Madelcv, a Labour member.

The latter, in a. speech to the railwaymen, stated that it was by Sir G. Farrar's orders that their brothers and children were shot down on July 4 during the strikes.
