Mails close at tho Chief Poet Office, Dunedin, as under:— For Wellington and Main Trunk offices, daily at 6.30 a.m. Late-fees, C.P.0., 7.40 a.m. Mail van, 8 fi a,m. Also, supplementary mails at 10.30 a.m. Late-fees, C.P.0., 10.45 a.m. Guard's van, 11.15 a.m. For Palmereton, Oamaru, Waimate, Ten.ukn. Timaru, Ashburton, Chrifltchurch, overland daily, at 6.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 740 a.m., mail van 8 a.m.), and at i 0.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 10.45 a.m., guard's van 11.15 a.m.) For Greymouth, Hokitika. and Reefton, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10-30 a.m.

For Invercargill and intermediate offices, daily at 7.30 am. (late letters C.P.0., 8 a.m., on mail van at 8.25 a.m.), and »t 3.45 p.m. (late letters C.P.O. 4 p.m., guard's van 4.25 p.m). For Oamaru, Timaru, and intermediate offices, daily at 2.30 p.m. (late letter! on guard's van 3.18 p.m.). For Cromwell. Clyde, Ranfurly, and intermediate offices, dailv at 6.30 a.m. (late letters on guard's van 7.45 a.m.).

Late-fee letters only must bear Id in addition to tho ordinary postage. Registered letter mails close one hour and newspaper printed matter, and samples mails, etc., 30 minutes earlier than ordinary letter mails. Note.—The public aro earnestly requested to " register" all letters fnntaininz money or valuables intended to be sent by post. THIS DAY (FRIDAY), NOVEMBER 7.

For the Australian State 6, Pago Pago, Apia, Honolulu, United States of America, Canada, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe (due London December 14), via Auckland, per Victoria (connecting with the Yentura at Sydney), at 6.30 a.m. Correspondence to bo specially addressed.

For the Island of Niue, per Kereru, via Auckland, at 10.30 a.m.

Federal Service.

For United Kingdom (due London December 5) and Australian States and New Guinea (via Wellington), Continent of Europe, Ceylon, India, Japan, China, Straits Settlements, Mauritius, South Africa, Mediterranean ports, etc., per North Express at 10 a.m. Registered articles received till 9 a.m. on the 7th. Late letters may be posted at C.P.O. till 10.30 a.m., and on guard's van till 11.15 a.m.

Mails of the United States of America, Canada, West Indies, etc., United Kingdom, etc., per Moana, will close at Wellington, Friday the 7th, at 3 p.m. The above notices for seaborne mails aro subject to alterations should steamers be withdrawn from sailing.
