A heavy soutiicrly galo, which has been blowing since hist lugut, interfered with tho movements of vessel.-,. The schooner Ealoon, belonging to Easson, Ltd., witch .lett llavelock lor Wellington three days ago, timberladon, had a very rough trip across the strait. All her sails were blown'' away, and she was compelled to anchor at the neads. The harbour steamer Karaka was despatched to her assistance at 3.30 a.m., but owing to the difficulty of getting a tow-line aboard, and tho fact that the schooner's anchor louled, it was not until about 6 o'clock that the steamer moved away with her to k;m liay, near Point Halswell, whero she was anchored. 'lho Manowai arrived from Napier. She wiifi over 29 hours on the trip. There is no sign of the'Morayshire, which lelt Auckland at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patceiia,. for Picion' and Noison, cleared the Heads at 1.15 thu'afternoon, but the Ngatoro, for (Irflymoutii, was eompellod to put baok, Tho Kapiti, for Lyttelton, was unable to face the galo last, flight _ A big sea is still running in the strait. .
