Reference was also made to the annual horse parade, summer show, and winter show The principal items in the balance sheet were:—Members' tickets, £72 6s 6d; summer show—receipts £215 16s 6d, expenditure £226 76 id;, winter show—receipte £69 19s, expenditure £70 15s 9d. Tho report and balance sheet were adopted as read. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr \Y. Dalgleish; vico-presidents—Messrs Simon Wright and John Begg, j\in.; secretary, Mr T. M'Donald; and treasurer, Mr G. H. Waymouth. For vacancies on tho Committeo of Management the following were- elected: Messrs Walter Murray, John Barclay, W. Marshall, G. Moffat, D. Sheddan, M. S. Reid, A. G. M'Kenzie, and W. S. Thomson. For the Working Committee there were 11 nominations, and the result was:—Messrs Barclay, Murray, Marshall, H. H. Clarke, D. Sheddan, ft. Houliston, and H. S. Reid. The matter of membership and annual subscription was debated at some length, and several amendments were brought up. After motions for a subscription of 10s 6d had beaten £1, and 12s 6d had beaten 10s od, a further amendment that tho subscription bo 15s was carried. _ I The Working Committee was instructed to obtain the neceeeary information and report to a full meeting of the society as to the advisability of the society erecting a grandstand and other buildings on the showground. .

COMMITTEE MEETING. At tho close of the annual meeting, a meeting of the General Committee was held. The horse parade was fixed for Friday, October 10, on the 6how-ground, the prizes to bo the same as last year. It was further decided to appoint one judge for draughts and one for light horees. A letter was received from Mr J. D. Landels enclosing cheque for £10 10s for a cup to be competed for at the summer show in the Romney Marsh section, the cup to bo won twice, not necessarily in succession, before becoming the property of exhibitor. —It was resolved that the secretary • write to Mr Landels, thanking him for his handsome gift. -
