DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows:—We had a very small muster of horses forward for our salo on Saturday, but this was only to be expected ■after our spring safe on the previous day. There were no fresh homes in from the country, and tho entry was made up with ono or two exceptions of old and stale horses. The attendance of buyers waa only medium, and competition was not keen, consequently business was rather dull. However, wo managed to quit a goodly number at satisfactory prices. The demand for sound ypung mares and geldings fit for farm work is still keen. Quotations: Good young draught mares and geldings, £35 to £40; heavy geldings fit for lorry work, £40 to £45; extra good (prize-winners), £50 to £55; medium draughts, mares and geldings, £25 to £30; aged and stale draughts, £7 to £16; good strong spring-vanners, £22 to £28; spring-carters, 1 £18 to £26; Btrong buggy horses, £15 to £18; hacks and light harness horses, £6 to £10.
