THE WIMMERA.

The Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmera, which arrived yesterday from Sydney, via Auckland and "East Coast ports, is making her Jaet visit to New Zealand for the time being. On her arrival at Sydney from Auckland on August 8 she will be withdrawn from the New Zealand service, and will leave the following day for Hobart, in place of the Westralia. The Wimmera will remain in the Sydney-llobart trade for an indefinite period, and the Westralia will go to Melbourne to relieve the Loongana. in the Melbourne-Launceston trade, wnile the latter vessel lays up for survey and overhaul. As previously stated the Riverina, of 4758 tons f<roc6, at present engaged in the West Australian trade, will leave Sydney for Auckland on August IS. in place of the Wimmera, and will continue running in the-Auekland-Sydne.v service. The Riverina has accommodation- for a far larger number of passengers than the Wimmera, and is cabable of a prood turn of speed. Captain G. F. Entwistle, of the Wimmera, will probably have command of the Riverina. The vessel will visit southern ports, as is now done by the Wimmera and Victoria, but during the summer she may run only between Sydney and Auckland, in which case the Victoria will act as the connecting steamer on tho coast.
