A Drainage Board Case.—Robert Henry Wright was charged with executing certain drainage work otnerwise than an accordance with the Dunedin Drainage Board's bylaws.—Mr Scautlebury, who appeared tor the Drainage Board, said that tins case was before the jJlatfisirato about a fortnight ago, ■but it was adjourned in order that it might bo ascertained what work was required t>y the board and that it nuglit be carried out by the defendant. It had been found that the work was somewhat more complicated than had originally bow anticipated. He asked for a further adjournment for a month.—This was granted. Lke-infoctcd Sheep—John D. Blair/ who failed to appear, was fined 20s for exposing 40 shoep intected with lice in tho Dunedin Saleyards Company's yards on July 2. Noxious Weeds.—William N. M'Lean was chargod with failing to clear gorso and broom off his land at Waihola.-The defendant did not appear, and tho Magistrate imposed a lino of £3, with costs (75).. By-law Cases-Charles Lawson pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle over a footpath contrary to the city by-Jaws.—A fine ot ss, with costs (7s), was imposed. David Porter Wilson pleaded guiltv to keeping horses in a building in the city, such building not being licensed as required by tho city by-laws-Mr W. C. MacGregor, who prosecuted, stated that the by-law had been m force since the beginning of 1912—A fino of 10s, with costs (£1 8s), was inflicted. —- Isabella M'Kechnie and Grigor Allen Grant, for similar offences, wore dealt with in the same manner. An Unnatural Offence--William Duff was charged with having on July 22 assaulted a bov aged 10 years and 11 months with intent to commit a serious offence.— Mr Bartholomew ordered the court _to be cleared and the suppression of tho evidence. —The accused reserved his defence and wa 3 committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court.
