FULLERS' PICTURES. _ , The consistent appeal, which moving r>ictures make to the pleasure-loving publio was well exemplified by the large audience which assembled in the Princess Theatro Inst evening to witness the screening of the current series of films on view there. lie diverse nature makes its popularity assured with every section of the audience, and many of the subjects dieted hearty applauso last evening. "The Man in the White Cloak," "The Orchid," and "Under tho Make-up " are all dramas of high merit, while the humour of the comedy entitled "I fear No Foe" is irresistible. The 6amo scries will be shown again this evening. HAYWARD'S PICTURES. Scenes from the "Pickwick Papers," with the popular Vitagraph actor John Bunny in the name part, attracted a large and appreciative audience at "The Octagon" last night. "Saunters through Old Rome" (scenic), a drama entitled "Tho Honour System" and an excellent industrial film dealing with the making of lager beer are the chief supporting numbers. 'Die same series will be 6hown to-night, to-morrow afternoon, and to-morrow evening. KING'S THEATRE. • The bright and) attractive programme at present being staged at tho King's Theatro entertained a large audience last evening, and frequently elided from tho spectators expressions of pleasure and admiration. Miss Violet Carmen and Mr Alt. J. Lawrence appeared in a number of pleasing songs and sketches, and won most favourable opinions. Harry and Nellie Quealy aro also proving deservedly popular, and Mr Joseph Hurley as a coon impersonator is clever and amusing. Carmo and Francis, an acrobatic duo, and Ernest Pitcher (comedian) also present acceptable turns, and a number of moving pictures find a welcome place in the programme. Carmen and Lawrence will appear for the last timo this evening, and on Saturday their placo will be taken by F. J. Sidney and Co., a troupe of high and long-jumpers and novel dancers, who have attracted considerable attention in other parts of tho .world. QUEEN'S THEATRE. "Among the many good programmes that the Queen's Theatre patrons have 6oen is that presented for the first time yesterday, The pictures aro all of the customary wholesome nature, even allowing for the extravagancies that have crept into every picture show. These, however, in. this, tho latest programme, are certainly not obtrusive. After many months under a newmanagement tho fact that, the .exhibition is conducted on excellent lines may be referred to. The pictures are always carefully selected, the comfort of patrons is well looked after, and strict attention is paid to prohibiting anything indecorous. Tho star picture in the new programme _ m " When the Desert was Kind," which sounds a little enigmatical, but is well explained as the story develops. The kindness consists in a girl, who in an illadvised moment marries a man who is utterly worthless, being relieved of all her troubles and left free to wed the man of her choice through the heat and rigours of the desert into which the worthless man follows an Indian for revengeful reasons. The sufferings lie experiences in tho desert provo too much for his endurance, and he is found dead. There are mtjiiy other interesting details connected with the story, which is well represented by the actors and. actresses engaged 111 its depiction. It is a really good dramatic piece of work, and the photographer has reproduced it very successfully. " Lady Peggy's Escape" is an historical Irish drama, the pictures being taken in Ireland. It includes a wonderful, ride by Lady Peggy, and a duel between her and the leader of some lawless soldiery, and is in other respects full of thrillingepisode. "Tho House of Darkness" is an exemplification of the iwwer of music, even over those bereft of reason, and is a good thing in its way. There is also the'usual accompaniment of comedy and 6ome educational and topical pictures. The new programme is 011 the whole a decidedly good one, and should draw well during the re> mainder of tho week.BRYDONE SKATING RINK. There was a good attendance at the'Br jdone Skating Rink last night when tho facinating pastime of roller-skating was indulged in for several hours. Great preparations aro being made for the forthcoming, fancy drees carnival, when it is anticipated there will be some very original dresses ' worn. The rink will be open again to-day At the usual horns.
