RECIPROCAL TRADE

VANCOUVER, July 24. (Received July 25, at 0.20 a.m.) In an interview Mr Arthur Kidman advocated the appointment of commissioners to deal with trade matters of a reciprocal nature such as were pending in connection with the Canadian-Australian reciprocity agreement, If such a body existed, iie said, the vicissitudes of the political parties would be unable, to affect the country's trade unfavourably. Australia's leading business men ought to take steps to remove the possibility of .politicians gravely affecting their trade whenever they \yished to do so. All the Australian shippers were anxious to conclude an agreement with Canada in order to secure the same advantages as were now enjoyed bv New Zealand.
