OTAGO A. AND P. SOCIETY.
Tho monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and.P. Society, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs T. T. Ritchie (vice-president, in the chaiy), R. A. 8. Cantrell, James Macandrew, E. F. Duthie, John Angus, Wm. Souter, D, Andrew, '1-. Scott, 'i'. Elliott, \V. R. Gawn, James Roes, .Fames Gow, H. M. Driver, and G. R. Ritchie.
'l'ho Grounds Committee • reported that the old sheep pens had been removed from the north-east end of Tahuna Park and reerectcd at the couth-west corner of the 6ho\v ground, while 100 additional stalls had been put up. The cattle yards had ako been removed to tho 6ama locality, and would shortly be completed. The committee recommended that about 50 additional stalls be erected in continuation of the present stalls. With this extra accommodation all exhibits to tho show will be provided with proper quarters, which will be much appreciated by exhibitors, and will be of great convenience to stewards in marshalling exhibits for tho show ring.—On the motion of Mr T. T. Ritchie, seconded by Mr Andrew, the report was unanimously adopted. The Secretary of tho New Zealand Sheep Breeders' Association (South Island) wrote offering for acceptance at the forthcoming show two gold medals valued at £4 4s each for the best Border Leicester ram. and the best Lincoln ram above 16 and under 28 months, such rahis to be. from flocks registered. in the New Zealand Flock Book (South Island).—lt was resolved to send a letter of thanks to the association for the medals, which were gladly accepted. On tho motion of Mr T. '1. Ritchie, seconded by Ml* Driver, Mr G. H. Stewart's nomination as a member of committee for Olutha and Tuapcka districts. was confirmed. He will lill the vacancy caused by the appointment of Mr G. H. Gilroy as an honorary life member of tho society. Judges for all the classes for the Summer Show, to he held on tho last Wednesday and Thursday in November, were duly nominated.
On the motion of Mr Andrew, seconded by Mr Gow, Messrs Wedge Bros, were elected members of the society. A considerable amount of detail bueinefiS ■was also transacted.
