Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin. as under:— For Wellington and Main Trunk offices, 6.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. For Palmorston, Oaranru. .Waimate, Temub, Timiru, Askburton, Christehur<;h, iverland' daily, at 6.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 7.40 a.m., mail van 8 a.m.), and at 10.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 10.45 a.m., guard's van 11.15 a.m.). For Groymouth. flokitika, and Reefton, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10.30 a.m. For Invercareill and internwdiate offioes daily at 7.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 8 a.m., on mail van at 8.25 a.m.), and at 3.45 p.m. (late letters C,P,O. 4 p.m., guard's van 4.25 p.m.). For Oamaru. Timaru, and intermediate offices, daily at 2.30 p.m. (late letters on Guard's van 3.18' p.m.). For Oromwell, Clvde. Eanfurly, and intermediate officcs, daily at 6.30 'a.m. (late letters on guard's van 7.45 a.m.). Late-fee letters must bear Id in addition to the'ordinary postage. Registered letter mails close one hour and newspaper mails 30 minutes earlier than ordinary letter mails. Note.—The public are earnestly requeeted to "register'' all letters containmg money or valuables intended to bo sent bv post. For Rarotonga and Tahiti, per Navua. via Auckland, at 6.30 a.m. Mails per direct fteamer Remuora, for London, via Montevideo and Teneriffe, will close at Wellington on 'Fridav, 25th inst., at 10.30 a.m. 'Mails for the Australian States, United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, the East, etc., per Maunganni, will close at Wellington ou Friday, 25th, at 3.30 p.m. The next best despatch for tho United States of America, Canada, Central America, West Indice, etc., per Niagara, via Auckland, will close locally on Wednesday, tho 30th inst., at 6.30 a."m.
