A circular has been prepared setting out the advantages to be gained from such a league, being stated as follows:—(1) Combination is strength; (2) a set programme of matches for the season; (3) competitions for trophies, etc.; (4) protection of clubs by tho league; (5) better playing-ground arrangements; (6) a better style of play and considerable more interest shown by tho placers' and supporters. It is proposod that tlie patrons, president, and vice-presi-dents be selected from the most prominent citizens of the city.
