(Per United Press Association.) WANGANUI, June 11. The proposal by the Mayor of Gisborne to accept money "on temporary loan 6 from local residents is not new as far as Wangarnii is concerned. Some three years ago the then Mayor inaugurated a scheme by which money is accepted, repayable at call. The rate of interest is 3£ instead of 4 por cent., as proposed by the Gisborne scheme. The scheme found great favour here, the amount deposited being usually some £20,000, AUCKLAND, June 11. The creditors in the bankrupt estate of Jim - Wong, a Chinese fruiterer, met today. The bankrupt's partner (William Chan) offered to nay half the debts provided that Wong set forth his affairs clearly. The creditors refused the offer unless Wong was prepared to pay 5s in the pound as well. Finally the meeting was adjourned to enable the books of account to be translated by the Chinese Consul in Wellington. WELLINGTON, June 11. H.M.S. The entries for the winter show to be held next week 'total 782—an increase of 14 on last year's total.
