"TRAFFIC IN MARCONI SHARES. LORD MURRAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyrigrt. LONDON, June 10. It is noteworthy that the Marconi shares for which Lord Murray paid upwards of 60s are now under 15s. Captain Murray, in his evidence before the committee, stated that Lord Murray, before leaving England, handed him 3000 Marconi shares, which had been purchased for the Libera] party. Lord Murray proposed to retain the shares until the Marconi business had been cleared up, 60 nobody but himself should be involved. He also informed his legal adviser to this effect, but did not inform his colleagues. The witness believed that Lord Murray's transaction, if indiscreet, was perfectly free from dishonour, and he thought that if the transaction had been disclosed it would have been used to make political capital at the expense of the Libeyal party. In reply to a question witness stated that he thought it quite probable that nothing would have 'been heard of llie Liberal party's purchase if the Fenner incident had not occurred. He was, however, unable to say whether the trustees of Fenner's estate would 6ue the Liberal party or Lord Murray personally for tlie amount of the indebtedness. The, committee is considering the question of an interim report.
