(Received May 15, at 11.10 p.m.) The Home Office inspector reports that the Cadeby explosion on July 8 was due to a fiie which originated yeare ago, and which had never been completely eradicated. He blames the attempt to recover the bodies after the first explosion. In tlio Cadeby Main Colliery on July 8 th-ere was an explosion which killed 35 out 37 men in the southern part of the mine. Then, while a rescue party was at work, they were overwhelmed by a second explosion, among the'dead being a chief, senior, and junior inspectors. Of this party 43 were killed. It was only the previous day that several of those whose mutilated bodies were taken from the mino were greeting their King and Queen with loyal cheers.
