(Feom Otjb Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, May 14, The public accounts are approaching completion and : are likely to be gazetted shortly. Details are not yet available, but it is understood that the following increases in revenue over the totals for last vear will be shown:—Customs, £125.000; land tax (graduated and ordinary), £80,000; railways, £300,000. 'The increase in railway revenue .will just about balance the increased expenditure for. th« year. The Prime Minister to-day promised a Counties Association deputation . which waited upon him that be would give it ample notice of any legislation brought down next session affecting local bodies, so that, if necessary, a conference might bo summoned to consider the Government's proposal. The Hon. F. M. li. Fisher, Minister in charge '.of the Government Printing Department, announces that in future tho Government Printing Oihce will be subject to inspection by an inspector of the Labour Department under the Factories Act. Hitherto the Government Printing Office lias been exempt from inspection, but henceforth it will be treated in this respect as a private concern.
