There was a good attendance at the meeting of the Loyal Pride, ot Ktutaugata Lodge ou i'nuwday to welcome the Loyal Dalton brethren, wno paid an official visit. P.G. tiro. W. M'Luron presided-in the abseneo ot N.U. Bro. _\. j. Morrison. A'.G. Bro. \\. J. Maker and 11 members of the Dalton Lodge were heartily welcomed. An inyitatiou to a social evening was received from the local Orange Lodge, and accepted with pleasure. P.O. Bro. Thomas. Middlemass, lecture master for tho South Otago lodges, intimated that ho would hold a past officers' degree meeting and purpla lecture at Balclucha next week, and certificates ' to eligible candidates were auly passed. It was decided to hold mi impromptu debate next lodge night. N.ti. Bro. Maker replied to ths customary toait on behait of n.s lodge, and tho kaitangaca members tor their hearty welcome. The ovaning was pleasantly spent 'in listening to a splendid lantern lecture by "U.M. Bro. J. h. Terry, .entitled " A Trip through Spain and Portugal." With tho aid oi it iirst-class lantern and excellent slides, Bro. Terry treated-.the lodge and visitors to a most interesting talk, and a hearty vote of thanks was aeorded him ou the motion ot P.P.CM. Bro. C. J. Wood. A social hour was then spent in refreshment and harmony, the function lasting till alter midnight. < About 70 members of the city and suburban lodges journeyed to Port Chalmers on Tuesday evening to pay an official visit to the Prince of Wales Lodge. Tho muster included 'il irom the Albion Lodge, and 16 from the Dunedin Lodge, end tho Centenary, Valley, Mosgiel, Cavorsham, and Hand and 'Heart Lodges were also represented. The two new district ollicers (P.liiM.' Bro. G. A. Coughlan and P.D.G.M. Bro. A W. Palmer), and P.T. Bro. llamel and P. P.O. ii. Bro. Cole also visited the lodgo ollienilly, and 'were cordially received. N.G. Bro. \Y. J. Wafc-on presided, arid the Port lo<lgo turned out in. good numbers; Tho omy important business at: the lodge meeting proper was the decesion to hold a degree meeting next lodge night. The responses to the toasts were mudc by N.G. Bro. T. Irvine (Mosgiel), N.G. Bro. Scott ('Centenary), P.G. Bro. ,W. J. Button (Valley), N.G. Bro. Hudson (Cavorsham), V.G. Bio. Lilley (Albion)-N.G. Bro.' W. Scott turned up later—N.G. Bro. Arnold (Dunedin), N.G. Bro. A. Sligo (Hand and Hear;), and the district 'officers. Tho harmony was contributed to by Bros. Gawno (piano), Waklie, Liwry, Bond, Clifford, Gawno (songs), and W. Hutton, Sligo, Longworth, and J. Hutton (recitations). At the close refreshments were oispensed by the Port brethren.

A well-attended meet-ins of the Loyal Duncdin Lodge was presided over by N.G. Bro. Arnold. The initiation of a candidate was abjy controlled by Lecture-master Bro. Rigby, P.P.G.M. Bro. M'Dougall assisting as conductor. A letter of recommendation was received in favour of a brother from a foreign lodge, and four similar letters were granted to brothers who were removing from the Otago district. Bros. M'Dougall, Brundell, Scooncs, and Crosbio were re-elected to represent tin) lodge on the United Friendly Societies' District ■ Committee. Included in the correspondence was a hearty invitation from tho 'members of the City Fire Brigade to spend a social hour with them, the invitation being .accepted, and 1 P.P.G.M. Bro. Brimdell to arrange a suitable date, The syllabus item for the evening, a progressive euchre tournament, was then entered upon, and proved most enjoyable, the hosts for the evening, Bros. M'Dougall, Scooncs, and Knox, being most attentive to the comfort of the members and visitors. N.G. Bro, Scott (Centenary), N.G. Bro. Scott (Albion), and N.G. Bro. Sligo (Hand and Heart) returned thanks on"i}ohalf of their respective lodges for the pleasant evening that, had been provided.
