DEATH OF MISS PORTER
DESPERATE STRUGGLE.
NO CLUE TO PERPETRATORS. Press Association—By ; Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 6. So far there is no clue to the criminals who are supposed to be responsible for the murder of Miss Porter. The'girl was apparently decoyed into the bush. There are evidences of a desperate struggle. The money and the basket she was carrying are miesing. Miss Porter was tho daughter of a wellknown family, arid a general favourite in the district. She was of exceptionally fine physique. DEATH DUE TO STRANGULATION. SYDNEY, March 6. (Received Match 6, at 9.45 p.m.) An examination of the body of Miss Porter disclosed the fact that she had been strangled before her head was smashed. The •rumour that she had been outraged has been disproved.
The police have not yet discovered a clue.
