The airship Beta, in attempting to alight at Aldershot, had troubfe with her engine, and collided with the telephone wires. She was seriously damaged. CHAIN OF AIR STATIONS. LONDON, February 27. The Government is considering Mr Grahame White's scheme of a chain or" stations, .particularly around the coast. MYSTERIOUS VISITOR. PROBABLE EXPLANATION. LONDON, February 27. A fire balloon 4ft high was found partly deflated at Market Weighton, a small market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, near Beverley. This explains the supposed airship that was seen on the east coa6t. ; Reports show thai phantom airships were sighted in many diverse directions about the same hour. Tha seamen on the Arcadia saw an airship northward of the Orkneys, FEELING IN GERMANY. BERLIN, February 28. The Cologne Gazette regrete that neither English experts nor the Government have yet attempted to rebut the monstrous suggestion that German aircraft are manoeuvring over England. It officially declares that no German aircraft have ever visited England. PURCHASES BY ITALY. ROME, February 27. Italy is spending half a million sterling on dirigibles and hydro-aeroplanes.
