BAY TOWN BOARD.

Tho monthly meeting of the Bay Town Board was field last evening; present— Messrs J. B. Shacklock (acting chairman), T. Pryor. A. 1..c Smith, E. F. Duthie, and W. D. M'Carthy.

Tho Public Works Department, Wellington, wrote advising that it had received notice, from the Portobollo Road Board of its intention to construct a hridgo at Anderson's Ray outlet, and notifying that tlio Bay Town Board's contribution to the cost be 15 per cent, of tho whole. Any objections to the proposal must bo forwarded within two months of receipt of notice from, the Portobollo Road Board.— Ihe Clerk stated that notice had already been received from the Portobollo Road Hoard, ami the solicitors had been instructed to forward an objection to the proposed contribution.

Joseph Lynn wrote stating that, in response to his previous complaint, Iks understood that the board intended to dean out tho dram that ran through the back of his property. If this was not satisfactory. jJiey irouostod that a road be made through the subdivision, with such provision for stormwater as tiio inspector might deem proper. -It was resolved that tho previous resolution be modified so iis to refer to stormwater only, and that the owners lie asked to deposH the sum of £100 to pav part cost of side channelling and metalling the road. Mr Prior drew attention to the Kid state of the footpath on the RnvfieM road. and is was decided to hue repairs effected immediatelv.
