MELBOURNE, September 6. (Received Sept. 6, at 10 p.m.) Mr Selby, an accountant, "'ho resides at Malvern, was aroused by a noise last night, and he chased n burglar into the yard.
In the course of a severe struggle the intruder stabbed Mr Selby in the back, and escaped. The wound is nut serious, but Mr Selby is weak from loss of blood.
The burglar left his overcoat behind, and, working on this clue, the police arrested a youth named Gibson.
