Tho annual general mootinii of the association was held in the Agricultural Hall, Middlemarch, on Saturday evening, Mr William Robertson (tho retiring president) in tho chair. Tho president's report (,'iivo u very satisfactory account of tho work and progress of the foeiuty during tho past year, and not tho least gratifying feature of the report was the statement that tho first step towards tho redemption of the denatures, representing the society's debt on grounds and hall, had been taken during the past ycur, £55 having Iwon dovolcd to that object, whilst tho society's property had been written down by nearly £2CO iii addition, The report and Idance sheet, «-ero adopted, and on the motion of tho retiring president Mr W, 1). Mr John Elliott was reelected treasurer, nnd the retiring members of the (icncr.il Committee were all re-elected, vacant places being filled by Messrs A. Knbcrtson, A. Guild, J. Turnlml!, jum! R. trvinc. On tho motion of the presidentelect, a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the retiring president and members of committee for their services during their year of office. At a subsequent meeting of the (leueral Committee a Finance and Management Committee of soven members was elected, consisting of Messrs V. Atkinson, YV. Mo.vnihan, F. Moynihan, W. Robertson, J. Holktlkti, (!. Willis. The president and treasurer to be mcmljers ex officio. The schedule of tlio forthcoming show on Easter Monday was considered awl revised, the prize-money in many classes being increased, whilst, with the object of providing more amusement and attraction for visitors from Dunedin, to whom the f how affords opportunity for a good holiday, (|u. wrestling on horseback was revised and another pony trot race for tho children added to the programme. A proposal to make a small charge for space on the ground for exhibits was rejected, tho members deciding to adhere to tho policy of free space am) free carriage to and from the ground for all exhibits sent by rail to all contributors of 10s or more to tho society's funds. It was decided to canvass for members as usual, and to thoroughly advertise tho sl)ow. A vole of thinks to the chairman closed the meeting.
