AUSTRALIAN FRUIT
LONDON BROKERS' METHODS.
REPLY TO CRITICISM
Pros Association—By Telegraph-—Copyright,
LOS DON, January 3. (Pieceived Jan. 4, at 1.15 a.m.) The Telegraph states that the Tasmanian growers' censure of Covent Garden methods is too severe and unjust. Some of the remarks made at tho Hobart conference are likely to arouse indignation amongst tho many firms conducting their busines3 on perfectly sound and straight methods. It would be interesting to hear the opinions of the London broKers concerning .those shipping the fruit. Au such criticisms would not be based on the actions of sonic few putting good fruit at- the top of a case. A reservation )s ncccssary for those doing their work well, The prosperity of Covent Garden has grown and extended because the firms there , have proved the best medium between the grower and the purchaser.
