FIELD AMBULANCE CORPS
The twelfth ' annual meeting of the N.Z.M.C. No. 2 Field Ambulance was held in the St. Jolm Ambulance Association's Room on I'uciday evening. There was a large attendance of non-commissionul officers ami men. Surgeon-captain Ritchie presided. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet Captain Ritchie said ihat although the year just past had been a .successful one, lie hoped to see the standard of eP.iciencv ot tho corps still further advanced. The parades held throughout the year hail been well attended, and tho company was well represented at the various special parades. lie congratulated the _ company on winning the Challenge Shield presented by the Hon. the Minister of Defence for competition amongst the tick! ambulances of the Dominion. 'I'lie camp of instruction held at tho Central Battery from January 8 to January 18 was perhaps one of tho most successful camps of its kind yet held. The annual competitions, for the Evans Cup and company prizes were held on August 3. and resulted as follow:—Cor- ' poral Jowsev, Privates Weeks, Gain, and Sparrow, 1; Corporal Clibb;, Lance-corporal Caddie, Privates A. Walson and Gillick.' 2; Corporal Mitchell, Lance-corporal Goodwin, Privates 1?. Wilson and O'Sullivan, 3. Special prizes were 'awarded lo Privates Sparrow and A. Watson for attendance. The following anointments for the ensuing year were made:— Secretary, Sergeant P. J. Wilson u'e-e!eclcd|: Finance Committee—Officers and non-commissioned officers; Social Committee—Serjeants P. J. -Watson and Jowsev, Corporal Jackson, Lance-corporal Goodwin, Privates Barlow. Gilliek. and Gain; auditors-Lieutenant Quartermaster Hone and Sergeant Hanson. A special Prize Committee was set j up to make an efi'ort lo increase the prizes ill the corps. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to tho press for llio publicity given to the company's affairs.
