Armstrong, captain of the Australian team, did not go north with the other members of the team last night When in Duncdin he met with an accident, When out walking on the hills he slipped, and, in trying to right himself, he threw himself back, with the result that he snapped one of the muscles in the region of the heart. The match Otago Daily Times v. Laidlay and Gray was played on the Caledonian Ground yesterday. Daily Times, batting first, made 69 (Cameron 27, Ncavo 10), Cotter and Haig taking the wickets. Laidlaw and Gray replied with 137 (Strang 45, not out, Mason 22, and Haig 20). thus winning by 68 runs. Bowie bowled best for the Times team.
