OAMARU MARKETS. (From Oat Own ComsroxDOT.)

OAMARU, December 6. The market continues lifeless, and. judged by appearances, there is no hope of a change until tin new season opens. Milleis appear to bo well .stocked and most of them will have sullicieiu to carry them over even for miNing purpo-'cw when tho new wheat eonics on the market. The harvest, promises to be somewhat later than usual, as the growth has been abundant, and crop- promise to he exceptionally heavy, so that it- ie probable that, the grain will not mature as oarlv as usual. There hat? been a fair amount of outsido inquiry during the week for velvet, out- very littlo ie

offering. ]miaul, ovnry succcs--ivo wo.'*!; now further confirms the opinion that- the siocks in the district have been depleted. Quotatoris remain tlio faint 1 as la.rt week.

Ti» out, market is in much the samo condition as tlio wheat market—fair inquiry hut little offering. A somou-hat tendency prevails, however, for (lie reason Hurt difficulty is being experienced in procuring fr«ii»!it for London. There is little doubt that the wonderful season 1 lint is prevailing everywhere in materially affecting the marker. Prices are as lae-t quoted.

As with wheat and oats, so with barley. I'li-inc-.-:.-; could undoubtedly bo done at lato quotations if llic.ro were any offering. The market for old potatoes is now quite exhausted. In the cour.se of a few weeks the new crops will be on the market in fairly large quantities. At the present time such business as is being done in new potatoes is confined altogether to the retail trade.
