A CENTENARIAN DEAD.
(Feu L'xited Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 17. Charles .William Smith, a native of Denmark, died at Russell on Tuesday. He was oyer 105 years of age. and settled in New Zealand in 1878. He previously followed the sea. He claimed that he landed on the coast between Cape Brett and Mongonui in the early twenties.
