Speaking at the Working Men's' College, Sir Charles Lucas declared that Australia had a, great future. Hcv growth had been immensely promoted by railways. The Canadian-Pacific railroad also afforded ail illustration of the immense importance of railways to a new country. Science had (lone more than laws to promote democracies.
