SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS OF OTAGO.
The usual monthly meeting of the School Commissioners ot Otago was held on Tuesday, when there weYc present— Mess's \V. Dallas (chairman), D. Dorrio, T. Mac Gibbon, and E. 11. Wilmot. Vii 2 Ranger reported on the application from John Dickson, lessee of sections 18, 20, 21, and 22, block 4, Aparinm, for perinissiop to givo Mr Macphcrson a sawmill site and tramway on section 21. —Renort received, and Mr Dickson's application grained, it being a distinct consideration that no part of I'ire proposed sawmill and tramway would be subject to valuation. Andrew Christie, lessee of Run No. 3, Wairaki, applied for authority to erect a two-roomed cottage.—Granted. William Sadli.er. lessee of section 30, block VI, Otaramika, applied for 2250 2jin drain tiles.—Granted on ■ usual conditions.
The application from J. P. Milnes to lease, section 542, Port Chalmers, at 5s per annum, was agreed to. Application from tho Southland. County Council foa- tho grajit of the necessary land for a. road one chain wide along tho south boundary of section 10, blcck XIV, Wendon.—Granted.
L. R. Toswill, lessee of parr section 16. block I, Tttiurau, applied for permission to sublet, the same.—Agreed to. subject to Commissioner's approval of proposed sub-lessee.
E. R. Bowler asked for consent to transfer of lea.ic of sections 16 and 17, block iy, Wendonside, from G. W. C. Divere (by direction of James Butler) to William Stevenson.—Agreed to on usual conditions.
Mondy and Stephens wrote forwarding documents fot execution of transfer of esse, section 1, block V and block VI. Rankleburn, W. G. Chapman to David Ireland.—Apr reed' to. Kcast, lessee of section 3 of 24, nock IX,' Invfercargill Hundred, wrote asking for assistance in having his boundaries defined.—Ranger to visit land and endeavour to find boundary. Aoeounts amounting to £27 9s 3d were pasjcd for payment. It was dccidcd that in future royalties on coal be paid monthly, and that the ranger make a quarterly inspection of tho books of lessees.
The Secretary laid 011 the table .a list of outstanding rents.—lt was decided to take stops to collect U1093 amounts within 0110 month.
