WRECK OF THE FOREST HALL.
GOES ASHORE IN DAYLIGHT. (Per Ukiteu Pi-ess Association.) AUCKLAND, March 1. A telegram from Parenga, in the extreme north of Auckland, slates thai the I'orrest Ilall was wrecked on Ratnrdav morning on the west coast, about 540 miles south-east of Cape Maria Van Diemen, near Te Ara JJluff. The soot where the ship came ashore is a somewhat lonely part of the coast, and the residents of Parenga, on the east coast, do not seem to have been aware of the wreck until lute in the da v. ,
The ship was on her way to Chilian ports from Newcastle, loaded with about 3000 tons of coal, and had been 21 days out from her port, of departure. She apparently had been blown out of her course considerably, as she should have passed to the north of the Three Kings. About 9.30 a.m. the vessel went ashore, and all oil hoard were able to reach the beach in safety. But there is fear that the heavy seas which come in on the west coast will break the ship up before any refloating operations can be attempted. The Forrest Hall is an iron full-rigged ship'of 2052 tons register, in command of Captain P. A. Logan. C. G. Dtmn and Co., of Liverool, are the owners.
The captain and first mate arrived at Parenga on Sunday in a very exhausted condition. The former has returned to the vessel.
