(Keceivec! Feb. 12. at 9.25 p.m.) Mi Gillett, Governor of California, announces that if the projected census of the Japanese in California shows the necessity, Congress will be urged to enact legislation for the exclusion of Asiatics.
President Roosevelt in a telegram to Mr f-iillett congratulated all who had aided to kill the hill providing lor the segregation of Japanese school children. Ho^ added, "The way California has done right for the nation makes it all the more, obligatory tm the nation to safcnnaixl California's interests." H-a said he would personally do his utmost to this end.
