YOUNG WOMAN INJURES HERSELF.
A somewhat Iragie incident occurred eaiiv vcslerday inorniny al 217 Cumberland street, when Alice Davie, the wife of Mr llilmer F. Davie, attempted to commit selfdestruction,' It seems that she had been in somewhat, low spirits of lale consequent on poor health, but she scorned brighter dining the past few days. Eariv yesterday morning Jlr Davie asked her'how she was, and she said that she fell quile. well, and had i:ad a good night. lie wrnl to sleep again, and an hour later—ulwut G o clock lie awoke and found her missing, lie at once enrmnem-ed a seareh for !n'l\ and discovered her lmddlcd up in ihe washbouse. ami bleeding from an ngly wound in liie throat. She had evidently attempted lo commit suicide with her husband's razor, which was found nenr her. She was taken at once lo the Hospital, where she received Ihe necessary surgical and medical treatment, and, llin matron stated, late last evening that she was proStressing favourably. Mrs Davie i 6 31 years of age.
