The usual monthly meeting of the Keftj srogion School Committee, was held on Monday evening, there being prcaentAlcssrs Huston (chairman), Attnison, Dalton Torrance, Henderson. The Head Master reported that 20 now pupils had been enrolled, and that six pupils had sccural prouciency certificates and two pupils competency cortilkiates in the recent examination. Tho Chairman reported that tho school had been thoroughly cleaned and fumigated during the recess, and that the samtury improvements being carried out by tho Education 13o;trd wore nearly completed. The weekly meeting of Pioneer Lodgo No. 2 was held on Tuesday evening, Bro. E. C. HuLton, Chief Templar, presiding. There was a good attendance of members ami visitors. After the correspondence was read and other routine business gono through, the lodge decided to send a rcpreventative to Grand I.odgc session, to !» held in Auckland during next Easter. Ono candidate was duly initiated. Recess was granted, and on resuming, the oflicors read theff reports, which were very encouraging, and showed the lodge to he in a good, sound condition. Several officers responded and thanked the lodge for plaeing them in such high and honourable positions. Hfartv votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring officers, and also to all visitors from sister lodges. Suitable responses were given, and the meeting closed with prayer.
