Brady, seconded ..the motion. -.' ■-,' Mr Davidson thought there was not enough enthusiasm amongst teachers 'to warrant thejr forming an association.. There was an''undercurrent of feeling amongst tho \teachers in regard. to the championship competition.. What they wanted was the co-operation of. head' masters, the Education Board, sohool com-' mittecs, and inspectors., They should find oftt whether they could get the support.of.' these. Until they did this they could not form an association. Mr Davidson, with the consent of-.his seconder, altered ,thc-amendment-to read: " That steps bo taken to find out whit support the proposed association would receive, from all the. head masters in Duncdin and suburban schools." Bro, Brady proposed as a further amendment that school committees he included in' the movement. • Mr Davidson's amendment was carried. It was resolved that Messrs Eudey and Callan draft a circular letter to tho" head masters of Dunedin with a view to ascertaining whether or not they would support the proposal to form a schools' association.
