UNFAIR TACTICS.
TO THE EDITOR. 1 Sip.,—l would like to draw attention to \ the very unfair attack made on Mr Thorn- ,: son in "the no-license advertisement in your ; issue cf the 27th inst. Wlien Sir Thomson was making his southern engagements ' I here was no challenge from Sir lsitl, and how ran he bo exported to neglect engagements to meet unexpected challengers? , To advertise Sir Thomson as '' No appearance, your Worship," and to call him a "boaster" is neither gentlemanly nor fair. Surely he has not so far displayed any desire to avoid debate, and when Sir Isiltwas here thro-.-; years ago he accepted with alacrity his challenge lo discuus this important matter. To hold a man tip to undeserved contumely and derision can only be condemned. lam afraid the N'o-liccnsc parly has been guilty of a very grave indiscretion and one hardly likely to gain it credit.—l am, etc..
