WELLINGTON, October 29. _ ihere lias been considerable apprehension on the part of residents in the towns from Wanganui to New Plymouth that the new overland railway service will detrimentally affect them in regard to their train and mail arangements. Inquiries made to-day show that the intention is that mails to and from Auckland will continue to be sent via New Ply. mouth. This arrangement will exist until an all-night train service is inaugurated There is, moreover, no present intention to alter the Wellington-New Plymouth mail and train service.
