STRAIGHT-OUT GIVING.

Slit,—Kindly allow me to correct your report of my remarks in tho Anglican Synod of yesterday. In explaining what I meant by straight-out giving I said that collections in the parish and collections and offertories in church were included. But. your report says that I did not approve of them, and that is quite the opposite of my meaning. I also said that it said that articles had been sold at sales of work at five times their value, and that I thought, that that statement was an exaggeration, but that twice the value might have been received. Your report will lead your readers to ask why the resolution was passed at all; but I hope this correction will give one of the many reasons answered by me, why the Synod agreed with mo that straight-out giving is the best method of giving to the service of Cod.—l am, etc., A. Douglas Alitciieli. October 27.
