SALE OF WORK.

For some timo past Hie Methodists of Maori Hill have found their quarters in the Council Chambers somewhat inconvenient, and with this idea negotiations were entered into, and there is at present being crcctcd in the borough a haudsomo church. It occupies an excellent site just opposite the reservoir, and is expected to ho dedicated early in December. With the object- of increasing the building fund a highly successful 6alc of work was opened by Mr A. li. Barclay, M.P., yesterday afternoon, when the building was crowded.

The stalls were replete .with everything from a laocwork d'oyley to a. bottlo of ginger ale, and immediately after the openins ceremony business was briskly carried on.

The following are the stall-holders: — Plain work stall—Mrs'Rigby, sen,, Mrs Mackie, and assistants. Fancywork stall— Mrs Nelson and assistants.

Flower stall—Mr Walker and MisS Mackie.

Sweets flail-Mrs A. Rigby and Mis 6 IS. Rigby. Produce slall—Mr T. Mackie and assist ;;nts.

Christmas tree—Miss Mackie. Refreshments—Mrs Ferguson and assist" an is.

The sale will l>n continued this afternoon and evening. During tho evening an excellent, musical programme was provided. Songs were sung by Mrs Lawn. Mr I.awn, Mr Hopkins, ami Miss Taylor; a recitation was given by Miea Poole, a lecturetto by Miss Kitto, and a duct by Misses Taylor and Kitto.
