MINISTERIAL RECOGNITION. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 28. Speaking this afternoon at a meeting_at llemucra to thr*» interested in the trainin;' of children, the Hon. tl. I'owkls, Minister of Education, Referring to the kindergarten system, said lie cor-sidered it that tlicro would be an extension of the system in the schools, lie would welcome with much pleasure tlie extension of Nature-study in tlio schools. The department was prepared to subsidise at the rale of pound for pound kindergarten schools under certain conditions that secured efficiency in teaching. 1-le believed every teacher would be belter for some training in kindergarten work.
