— — (From. Our (W Correspondent.) LONDON, September 11. Mr J. Godber (of Wellington); Mr F. VV. Haybittle (ohairrnan of the Northern Bowling Association of New Zealand), Mr T. Bush (ex-president of the Wellington 8.C.), and Mr T. R. Jones (also a member of the Wellington Club) engaged a strong rink of tho Streathem Constitutional Club in what proved to bo a most keen contest, Tho Homo side won by a single point only. Mr . Stephen llbitescue, ox-president of the Streathem Bowling Club, in welcoming the New Zealandcre, pointed out how pleased ho was to meet old friends whom, lie- had seen in Wellington four, years age during his tour in delightful Maoriland. Mr"Haybittle,- in response, pointed out that ho and the fellow members of his rink, did not claim to be recognised as being a representative contingent of the Wellington Club, but they were prepared to tako a beating in the sportsmanlike manner that bowlers ought to expect. He expressed tho' hqpe that it would not bo long before the promised vWt of a Motherland team would be, paid to the Dominion as a return to the itinerary here made by the side under the captaincy of Mr James- Paul in 1901, awl of the two rinks which came hero last year. -, Mr. F. J. Tasker (Palmprstoh North), who. leave s for New Zealand, on tho 27th jnst., has been invited to take part in a demon-, 6tration of indoor bowls next'week in London.
