DUNEDIN SOUTH ELECTION.

Sir,~l was much surprised in reading "Constituent's" letter in to-day's Times in connection with Mr W. Fleming's candidature for the above seat. As a witness of your correspondent's act ions, [I must say" he opts cbnsiderahty. He states that he askod a question and was not allowed, on the grounds of not being an elector. Well, in my opinion, lie simply went out. of his way to make a speech, and that of an insulting character. However, judging by the number of backers he had, he evidently came out of 'his way to make a disturbance, as to which ho may later have to explain. In regard to Mr Fleming's candidature as a Labour man, any man may take upon himself the position of seeking' the electors' votes in that cause; but that was not so in Mr Fleming's case. Mr Fleming was presented with a largo requisition asking him to bowmic a candidate, and bo acceded to the request, and is being supported by a largo section of the electors, who do not need to be reminded to do llioir duty on election day.—l .am, etc., • Electok.
