Sie,—lt seems to mo, now that labour is iiard to obba-in, at least in country parts, the subject of tho Saturday'half- holiday might be again profitably taken into consideration,- and that not simply from a townsman's point of view, but also from a. countryman's point of view. For there are a great many men working,in tho country to whom, from thoir long houre and hard work, (he weekly half-holiday would fce s great advantage. Such men, for instance, as farm labourers and station rouseabouts, for the. termor, particularly often work 10 and even 12 hours a ,day! while tho latter often times have to'do more than an day's work. There aie now.'some employers who do manage to give' that advantage to their men, and I have never heard that they have been losers bv it.
