It is £<&ri»ly fair to construe anything that 1 said as an attack on the Opposition. But that -is. by the -way. What J. wish to •disclaim i.i that I ever supported the Opposition. When I first contested the Chalmers scot, 15 years aijo, I came out a 6 a moderate Liberal. I enclose a circular, dated 23rd October, 1893, announcig my candidature, by which it will be seen that 1 was a supporter of the land laws of the then Government. I disapproval of tho control of the railways being under commissioners.. I advocated greater encouragement being given to tho dairying industry, the establishment of copl stores, and tho appointment of experts to grade and classify dairy 'produce intended for export. If not trespassing too much on your valuable' space, 1 should bo glad if you would kindly reprint tho whole of tho circular referred to, eo that" the public might judge whether or not I have changed my political views.—l am, etc., E.
