MEMBERS' EXPENSES.

WELLINGTON, July 30. An interview between the Minister of Lands ajid a deputation from the New Zealand Fanners' Union Conferenco elicitc-d from the lion. Mr>M'Nab an expression of his willingness to have meetings of Land Boards in large districts, such as Otago, held fortnightly instead of monthly. A report to this effect) was made to tho conference by Mr -Hockley this morning, when lie also intimated that tlio Minister, acquiesced id a suggestion that tho allowance of 103 a day was not sufficient to meet the expenses to which struggling Crown tenants who were membe:s of Land Boards wore put to in travelling lons distances to attend such meetings. Mr M'Nab was in favour of increasing the allowanoo, but as it was fixed by statute ho was personally powerless in tho matter.
