LONDON, July 2 Twenty of tho suffragettes who were arrested and taken to the Westminster Police Court were bound over in a security of £20 each to keep the peace lor a year, in default one month's imprisonment. Five were bound over in two securities of £25 each to keep the peace for a year, \n default three months' imprisonment; one was bound over in £10 security to keep the peace for six months, and one was discharged. Lord Russell, defending one of the ladies, contended that their opiniona regarding the franchise were tantamount to a religious belief, tlius entitling them to ■"mprisonment as finst-claas misdemeanants. Tho defendants all elected to go to prison.
