The profits on kit year's transactions totalled £27,064, and the prosent excess of assets over liabilities was £505,404. Tho great problem to be solved was, tho chairman said, how to keep pace with tho largely-growing traffic. Io this end tho board had wisely resolved upon a forward policy, which, when carried out, would make tho port of Auckland the most progressive and up-to-dato in the Southern Hemisphere. A bill authorising the of a million loan to give olfcct to a contiruianco of tho board's iwlicy would lie presented to Parliament during the coming session.
